VAS Learning is a tutoring nonprofit created by two dedicated high school students.

Vennela Kunchala

Co-founder and President
Vennela is a high school student with over 4 years of experience in teaching classes up to 25 students. Her expertise remains within teaching a type of mental math called Vedic Math, as she teaches full-year courses at an esteemed organization and runs her own workshops at her local library branches. She also works part-time at Mathnasium. As a student in a Magnet Program for research in Math and Science, she is thoroughly learned in many subjects in these areas of study. She also takes part in business competitions where she placed 5th in NJ for the FBLA event of Financial Statement Analysis and is a national qualifier. 

Shriya Surti

Co-founder and President

Shriya is a high school student with a strong interest in the areas of English and Science. She works full time at her local Kumon, providing assistance to children ages 3-14 in Math and Reading. Shriya serves as a student leader throughout her school, as she is the Social Media Marketing intern, Assistant Editor of the Newspaper, and German Club President. Having strong prior knowledge of neuroscience from intensive courses at Duke University and Brown University, Shriya plans to eventually major in neuroscience or psychology in college. She is very excited to make a difference in her community with VAS Learning!

Aniket Parikh

Director of Operations

Aniket is a dedicated high school student aspiring to a career in the medical field. He has valuable experience tutoring recently displaced migrant children in Math and English through a nonprofit organization. Aniket also volunteers at a local food bank and has written papers to raise awareness about food insecurity. As a multi-varsity athlete on his school’s tennis and fencing teams, he embodies teamwork and discipline. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing sports with friends, and enjoying all life offers.

Khushi Prajapati

Director of Fundraising

Khushi is a highschool student hoping to pursue a career in medicine, specifically dermatology or clinical research. She tutors online with the organization Learn To Be where she helps students with various levels of Math, English, and homework help. She also volunteers as an Ambassador for Liberty Science Center where she educates children about space, physics, and water bodies using multiple experiments. At her highschool, she is part of the Magnet Program for Math and Science where she is cultivating her skills in research. In her free time she likes to volunteer at her local library, play for her school’s fencing team, and dance.
